At Te Whare Tāwharau, we offer three workshops, which give you the opportunity to learn more about consent, intervention methods, and supporting those who have been impacted by sexual harm.

CommUNIty 102

CommUNIty 102 is a workshop designed for first-year students at the university.

This program looks at consent and the different pressures you might face in different relationships, and how you can respond to these pressures. It's a discussion-based program which emphasises talking about our own experiences and solutions that we could use. There is a strong emphasis put on how to create safer communities and how we can look out for each other.

HYBRID

HYBRID (Helping You the Bystander Respond and Intervene to Disclosures) is a workshop developed for student leaders around the University.

Whether a university club or association exec team, demonstrators and tutors or just someone who wants to lead the way in keeping our university community safe from sexual violence.

Responding to Disclosures

Responding to Disclosures is a 90-minute workshop for University staff to discuss how to respond to disclosures of sexual harm. This workshop also discusses your roles and responsibilities as professional and academic staff under the new Sexual Misconduct Policy.

Workshop readiness

If you have been asked to participate in one of our workshops, but are worried the content might be triggering, please contact us for more detail on the workshop content or discuss with your supervisor, manager or head of college.

Become a Peer-Facilitator

Our workshop facilitators are crucial to the roll-out of our prevention programs. We would love to hear from students or recent graduates who are confident public speakers and are available to facilitate in O-week.

This is a paid position that we recruit for at the end of the year, however you can send an expression of interest at any time.
